If his fingerprints are on the gun (convicted felons can't own or possess firearms), if he had drugs or alcohol in his system when he was arrested, if he's not gainfully employed--and oh so many other terms of parole--I'm sure they can hold him.
I can't believe that they'd even consider releasing him. Surely there's some parole violation that they can hold him on. Didn't he steal a car from the family and sell it?
If this guy's released, something tells me that he won't survive long out of jail. Who's going to protect him? There are a lot of people in Illinois who are very angry about this case. Can't imagine how they'd react if this alleged child killer is back on the streets.
If I were him, I'd beg them to hold me in jail until trial.

This case is a weird one. Other than the failed relationship with the sister, and his criminal history, at this stage they haven't told us what else (other than his car in the area) they have on him, if anything. And they seem to be saying they have other suspects. TMZ had a strange article about Julia Hudson today, but I'm not sure what to read into it...she has put this caption on one of her photos on myspace "NOW THAT JASON'S GONE I'M THE PRETTIEST ONE" www.tmz.com/2008/11/07/julia-hudson-now-im-the-prettiest-one/A very odd comment. And why was her brother shot in the knee before? And by who? Was he involved in crime? Could this shooting be related to his first shooting? And why, when she had a small child, was she dating such a violent man?? She must have known he was on parole for serious crimes. I sure hope they get whoever is responsible...what an horrific crime.
