Definitely Obama/Biden for me. I was on the fence...but there's so much about Palin I don't like. For one, I'm pro-choice, and she definitely isn't. Also, my profession is grounded in anthropology and history, and I just can't fathom how anyone doesn't "believe" in evolution. And then there's the global warming thing. Palin seems anti-intellectualist....that disturbs me. I was a Hillary supporter...I would have loved to have seen her on the Dem ticket, and I was pissed that Obama chose Biden over her, especially because I believe that the Obama/Clinton ticket would have assured a Dem presidential victory. Now, that's just where I stand, and remember, I live in Mississippi, so I don't begrudge anyone who votes Republican. If I did, I'd be an awfully lonely person here! I'm pretty much a yella dog Dem. And a lot of my friends are big Republicans. We all get along.

I don't have anything really against Obama, but I like McCain's experience, back story, knowledge of what it takes to send men to war, to be a prisoner of war, etc.
I also see too many references in news, even though may be not true, that connect Obama to terrorists, I am uncomfortable with him.
When McCain announced Palin, I was very upset, but not because of anything she has done, mainly beause of how Hillary was sideswiped and how I feel having a women on the ticket will negatively affect the campaign.

Hey, you have to vote your heart. I can understand why you would support McCain. And ditto about the sideswipe of Hillary. She was my first choice. I adore her, and hope that one day she'll run again.

Okay, I am semi non-political.....mostly because, I care not to "care.". I grew up , still, with a staunch republican Dad. My, my, my.........the dislike for the dem party. However, it never kept him from being friends with dems......just very heated discussions. He is truly a well loved member of the community and highly respected. But, maybe being around that for so long I decided to become, neutral, Switzerlandish....hee hee. I can truly say that I am voting McCain...not because I am Republican, not because fof Dad....I just don't like Obama. I don't like the way I have seen him speak to and of woman. There is just something in my gut that says......"don't like him." It's truly personal. The few times I have watched him speak to his wife he has turned my stomach.
On another note....I am wayyyyyy pro-choice and registered as republican. I still don't get this whole thing, honestly. What difference does it make though? It's not as if abortion is illegal. What am I missing?
And.....on an entirely different note.....I am really angry at the moment. My ex gave me the support payment today, which by the way was due on the 1st. He shorted it $100. He claims that my daughter called him and said everytime she calls for money I yell......which most of the time I do. I will be straight and say I DO....... I spoke to him that day and explained to him what had happened and that I was on the way to the bank to put money in her account and pay her credit card bill and sent her an additional check for 100 (total from me $360)....and told him he didn't need to send money and he chose to do it anyway. I send her money all the time. He fails to realize this. I am yelling like any normal parent would because she is being like any normal kid would be--------. (he claims this wouldn't be if we hadn't gotten divorced-------which by the way he filed for.............. BIG DICK ) He got what he asked for......in spades. I could go in about this forever.....anyone want to come over and listen to me and the many tapes of him that I have of him speaking to me and about me and about ou children......he puts Casey to shame!!!!!!! Fucking NUT. Anyway, he chose to put that money in her account, no? Where the fuck does he get off slashing child support? I know I am not wrong......just venting. But, if you think I am Challenge me. I am all LUNGS, currently. BTW...I love you all. XOXO Stacy ps I am way to angry to check for errors......just forgive me or better yet, just accept me. I'll give the same consideration.

I'll give the same consideration. Okay, I will brieflly try to expalin the whole prolife issue and prochoice. I am prochoice because I think I should be the one to decide if i keep a baby and did have 2 abortions when i was younger. This whole issue is about a baby that is aborted late in term, like 7 months old in utero. They inject the uterus with something like saline and start labor. The baby comes out usually dead. Some babies live for a short amount of time. McCain feels that those babies that live should be given medical care. Obama, (don't beat me but this is my understanding) feels that the women should chose if the baby gets medical treatment. So, a nurse who had worked in a hospital where they did these partial birth abortions said the babies that lived were put on shelves in like a storage room until they died. Nobody held them, nobody rorcked them, they just died alone in a storage room. I am as prochoice as the next, but if a baby is born alive, I think it deserves the right to be treated and given the chance to live. As far as your hubby, boy oh boy. You poor thing. I'll vouch for you if you want to try to castrate him. I will give you an alibi, LOL.

welp ... got my absentee ballot yesterday ... I have no idea who I am voting for .... absentee? ?? If you don't mind me asking why? where I live is considered remote ... no local polling stations ... so, all elections are absentee ... get mailed your ballot, you vote, then mail it back.

Oh, interesting. I never heard of that. My daughter gets absentee because she is away at school, not that I think she'll vote.
