My mother, who is a RECENT crazed religious convert and newly adopted racists has just informed me that I can go fuck myself, not to talk to her for 4 years and that she is disgusted and ashamed by the country and that Obama is not HER president.
During the 2000 elections she called me on the phone state by state as Gore lost, harrassed me, giggled, pushed my buttons and was THRILLED and PROUD of Bush. It took her 6 years to admit he was an idiot and almost 3 years into his presidency to not bash me for not voting him in. Now if I bring up him being an idiot she says, 'Oh but we must look FORWARD not back'
Its a presidency. A silly vote for a rich man to do a job. I never thought I'd have to lose my mother over this bullshit YET AGAIN!!!
I just feel proud of the people in the country and so lonely and depressed my own mother feels the way she does.

Ok, I'll be the first to admit I am not thrilled by any means that Obama won. But, by no means would I stop talking to someone who did. We are all entitled to our opinions. It wasn't your one vote that won Obama the election. Mom needs to put things in perspective. Is she serious? It sounds as if mom can dish it out but can't take it.
I am sorry you feel down. Maybe Mom just needs a cool down from the shock of the election. It seems she is going to an extreme.
:hugs:

My dad told me today that he couldnt believe I voted for "that N-word". Just made me CRINGE all over. If John Mccain won I would not be dissing anyone about it. Honestly, you just have to chalk it up to ignorance and learn from their behavior and move on. It's not worth fighting about because these people are not going to change. I have however, been deleting people off my myspace page that are posting STOOPID ASS SHIT. They aren't family and I am not required to listen to their shit!!! On another note, I am watching entertainment tonight, and they are showing Obama telling his girls they will be taking a new puppy to the Whitehouse. So cute!!!!

Man, I am so sorry that some of you are experiencing personal pain from your loved one's over this election! I gotta admit, I dont have alot of republican love, lol, BUT my younger brother is a diehard republican, I love him and his family dearly, and NEVER did we quabble over Dubya being elected twice...well, to me he was appointed the first time, not elected, but I digress, lol.....bottom line, we live in the best place there is to live, America, and one of the best things about America is being able to voice your feelings, and vote. I love my brother, though I think he's deluded about his political belief's, they dont completely define who he is!! And shame on MommaSeaBiscuitchick, and jill's dad. I know they're your parents, but that shit is uncalled for...you are ADULTS! And should be accorded the right to vote the way you want, without repercussions from the very people who are supposed to love you no matter what (just ask Cindy and George, lol)....I am so sorry you both are having to go through this, maybe in time it will get better with your parents. You know, I dont recall being so obnoxious, angry and hateful when Dubya was named president, and trust me, I was NOT happy, but I sur didnt call and rail on everyone I knew who got him there.....

She swore he would be either killed before election or Hillary would somehow come back and take over and be president. She is probably fuming. I am not happy at all and what pisses me most is what seems like overabundant electoral votes in the blue states. California 55? I feel so bad for John McCain. He is a good man. I told my kids to pick a country they want to move to. Was thinking of either Russia or Iraq.

I told my kids to pick a country they want to move to. Was thinking of either Russia or Iraq. Aw, zoomom, ya cant go to Russia or Iraq!! We would miss you so! I'm sorry that you are so upset with the results, truly...and I agree with you a thousand percent, John McCain is A GREAT MAN....he served our country above and beyond, no one should ever discount his patriotism, or love of America....I know you've seen my post above and where I sort of stand politically, and we dont agree in that area, but I love reading your posts, and it seems like you are a super cool chick, so please dont go to another country!! Honestly, Obama wasnt my first choice, in fact I think the whole damn system needs revamped, our electoral process is broken, and I really think there should be some big time overhaul and term limits.....but it aint gonna happen in my life time.....Just my opinion, but I think there should be a cap on how much money you can spend on a campaign to be elected--and it should be a reasonable amount that even average Joe could raise it. That would even the playing field a bit, eh? And why only two parties? That was probably fine when our country had a population of ten thousand, but sheeesh, why do we only get two choices?? I honestly believe that you have to at least a little corrupt to be a successful politician, and that's the kinda stuff that really bugs me....and I will stop now, I dont want to tick anyone off, cause all of our opinions matter and do have merit.....

I finally called my mother, waiting for the wrath, and she ACTUALLY VOTED FOR OBAMA. I swear to GOD. This is her reasoning. She likes McCain, but hates Palin. She thinks McCain could likely die in the next 4 years and that would mean Palin would be President. So, she voted for Obama, but get this. She likes Biden, and is HOPING that OBAMA is assasinated, and therefore, Biden would be our President. She is just biding her time waiting for somebody to do him in.
I have to tell you, you know the saying, the applie doesn't fall far from the tree, WELL WE ARE SO OPPOSITE. I have never ever hoped for anybody to be killed.
Thanks for your nice comments. I am not really moving to another country, as there is no other country like America. I love my country and my freedom. I hope Obama changes my mind, otherwise, I will just patiently wait till the next election and hope that somebody else is elected.

I had said it before on another thread that there is a real possibility that Obama or McCain would not make it to the end of their term and we need to think about who will be President in the Spring of 2012. Not that I wish any harm or illness to anyone.
I just can not see Palin as president on so many levels.

Well...its been 3 days and she has refused all my calls and continues to delete my emails. Despite the fact they have NOTHING to do with politics.
I went from being hurt, to depressed and now I'm flat out ANGRY!!!
This is a woman who VOTES once every 4 years. She does NOTHING POLITICAL with her life AT ALL. She does not use yard signs, hit the booths, donate, field phone calls, petition or work for a campaign ON ANY LEVEL. All she does it watch TV, and votes republican.
So...I'm effectivly being SHUNNED because of her watching TV.
This is like me shunning her because she can't match an episode of Iron Chef, as far as I'm concerned.
I like politics, I enjoy reading about them, watching on TV BECAUSE I"M A SPECTATOR SAME AS SHE IS!!! She is NO BETTER and NO DIFFERENT!!!
So, after these ridiculous tantrums I'm absolutely demanding an apology for HER treating her only daughter like a piece of shit because she didn't like what she saw on TV. THat about sums it up. I'm past the hurt, now I'm pissed at how ridiculous she's being!
Go ME!

You go SeaBiscuit! Throw that hurt away. You haven't done anything wrong. LOL -- how surprised do you think I was, when I was talking to my daughter and she told me she voted for Obama? What that provoked was a 1-1/2 political discussion...the first one I've ever had with her! How you feeling, by the way?

I just feel proud of the people in the country and so lonely and depressed my own mother feels the way she does. Love ya, seabie. Sorry that you're going through this. Because I live in Mississippi, I hear the most godawful comments about Obama winning. At times I'd like to think that Mississippi's awful racial past is a thing of history, but then I hear people saying things in public that should never be said. I've heard people openly state that they hope he's assassinated before the inauguration. I've heard people say that he'll be holding barbecues and watermelon cuttings on the front lawn of the white house. I've heard people say that they'd better stock up on guns because he's going to start a race war. I hope you can mend things with your mother. Remember...she's going through a hard time right now. Give her a little time, and then do what I do with my relatives who are Republicans--don't discuss politics with them. You can always PM me anytime you wish, if you want to talk about this stuff.

Can't wait to see young children back in the White House. Obama's youngest daughter is sooo cute...she takes all of this with a grain of salt. It's going to be fun to watch her grow up...both of the daughters. I know that you are in East Texas....I lived there. It's a lot like living in South Mississippi...indeed, I'd go so far as to say that some pockets of East Texas are even more conservative than anywhere I'm familiar with in Mississippi. I just try to remember that you can't blame people for being a product of their environment. But you can praise people for refusing to let that environment shape their worldview. Somehow you and I came out of that environment without the racist beliefs that many of our peers share. Kudos to both of us. (And I'm not saying that everyone who doesn't support Obama is racist--far from it. What I am saying is that I know many people whose sole reason for not supporting Barack is because he's black. Those are the ones that I pity.)
