If you are a member of Websleuths, or if you are considering joining Websleuths, please know these facts:
1) The admin there considers your PMs her business, because you use "her PM system" to PM people. Therefore, she readsher members' PMs.
2) If you piss off the admins and mods there, they will ban you, and then they'll release real-life, identifying information about you.
3) The mods are given leeway to go into your posts and edit them. Sometimes you may post something, and when you return to your post, it says something totally different than what you posted. You'll see at the bottom of your post, "Edited by WindChime for mentioning Suzanne Somers" or whatever.
4) The only way to survive at Websleuths is to either lurk more than you post, or to be an asskisser to the mods and admins.
5) Rules are many, and they are very restrictive, but they are selectively enforced. Mods' pets get away with whatever they wish, as long as they constantly fluff the mods.
6) Once you join Websleuths, you are expected only to post at Websleuths. If you post elsewhere on other crime blogs, you will be banned from Websleuths.
7) NEVER under any circumstances use your real email address to register at Websleuths.
8) Tricia, the admin at Websleuths, has banned long-time members in the past, and then posted horrific, unfounded gossip about them. Tricia and her mods really brutalized one banned member, telling all of her suck-ups that this person was an alcoholic who abused and neglected her children.
9) Mods and admins expect "Christian" behavior of their members, but they don't hold themselves to the same standards.
10) Tricia allows her members to insert themselves into cases. They hurt people who are not even associated with particular cases. They do "background checks" on people, and post their income, children's names, addresses, and such. Websleuths members also call investigators to leave "tips."
Feel free to add your own facts, if you've been a member of Websleuths.
If I had known what I know now, I'd never joined Websleuths. The good thing is, I made some great friends there, and they're all here now at The Basement.

That's a great list, QA.
I'd like to add one:
If you notice a mod visiting your profile over there, it's fair warning you have a banning bullseye on your back.

actually, I noticed the increased spam before my WS "departure" ... would probably explain why they won't allow disposable email addies
